Travel many miles, attend many events, but the Hometown carnival is always fun

Celebration Samba played in the Worthing Seafront Carnival on bank Holiday Monday, 26th August. The band have always supported this local carnival, even in the pouring rain, we will not forget that one!! But, not this time!! Instead, brilliant sunshine all the way, and thousands of spectators crowding the pavements all the way from Wallace Avenue to the Steyne.
The carnival procession seemed to be well supported with floats, walking groups and bands, something for everyone. We were placed at no. 8 in the line up, and our maestre Ivan led us off at about 12-30pm
As the band passed the drinking establishments along the way, our maestre Barry gave them a rousing drum roll and shouts of "Tequila", which we all enjoyed! We were pleased to have the company of Heather, our dancer and "flag lady", who was able to interact with the children and parents along the route.
Lots of the crowd waved, applauded and smiled, some dancing along as we passed; as we came alongside the Steyne we went into Samba Reggae to finish.
Altogether a pleasant and enjoyable parade, strolling along drumming in the sun. What more could we want!!
